Ree Projects
Ree Projects is a line of stylish, elegant leather handbags. The brand was founded by Desiree Kleinen in 2016 and has expanded globally. The founder has over two decades of experience in the fashion industry and is committed to creating bags that empower women. Each Ree Projects bag is unique in its shape and construction, making it an excellent choice for everyday use. Among their most popular pieces is the Ann Medium East-West Tote Bag.
Ree Projects launched its first collection during Paris Fashion Week in June 2019 and is now available at dozens of retail outlets, including Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Moda Operandi, Nordstrom, and Shopbop. Designers like Sherri McMullen also stock the brand.
Anima Iris
Anima Iris is a brand with a mission to redefine luxury by putting African cultures at the forefront of the conversation. The brand is named after the founder’s mother and childhood friend. Using Italian techniques, the designer brings the vibrant history of Africa to life in her designs.
The designer’s inspiration for her designs comes from her African heritage. Her grandfather, who worked as a carpenter in Cameroon, used a method known as steam-bending wood. Her geometric purses feature geometric patterns that draw inspiration from traditional Ghanaian round bags. Anima Iris’s founder, Wilglory Tanjong, travels through Africa to study traditional crafts and modern textiles. Upon returning, she decided to celebrate her heritage through design. Her bags are fair trade and waste-free.
Despite the company’s recent growth, its artisanal handbags are still made in Senegal. The company has employed seven artisans in the country and pays them twice as much as the average artisan. As a result, the purses are both beautiful and sustainable.
EDAS
Founded in 2013, EDAS is a newcomer to the accessories scene. Originally a homeware brand, the label expanded its focus to include handbags and jewellery. Using recycled materials and other unusual elements, EDAS strives to create feminine staples for the modern woman. The label is known for its signature oversized buckle, which adds an unexpected element to any outfit.
This season, EDAS has introduced a few new additions to its line. The first, the Yshaia, is a mini-size version of its bestselling style. The popular yellow honey colour has sold out, but the Yshaia has been re-released in chocolate brown and navy blue. The Maria, a classic black bag, also debuted in new hues.
BruceGlen
If you’re looking for a stylish and affordable black designer bag, consider a bag by BruceGlen. The bags come in a range of designs and can be worn with everything from all-black outfits to a statement pop of colour or print. They offer a stylish and edgy look and are well-crafted.
The BruceGlen brand was founded by two dynamic fashion designers and is Black-owned. Beyonce has launched celebrity brands with the company. This metallic leather hobo bag is eye-catching and great for a hands-free bag experience. Metallics are a signature style of the BruceGlen collection.
